About the platform

Rennant Living is a platform where students can safely find vacant houses near their campuses, view all relevant information about the property, and make necessary arrangements directly with the landlords. The platform is student centred, therefore built with affordability and ease of use in mind. We aim to make the process of finding student housing as simple and stress-free as possible.

What we do

We aggregate verified listings from landlords and agents and expose them through a simple, mobile-friendly interface. Students can browse listings, view photos and details (including distance from campus), and lock rooms using an in-app payment flow. Landlords and agents can submit listings which are reviewed by our team before publication.

Rennant living is built and managed collaboratively by students across various institutions in the country. We are passionate about improving the student housing experience and providing a safe, reliable platform for students to find housing. Our team is committed to transparency, security, and user satisfaction.

How it works

1. Students search listings by university, location, or room features.
2. Landlords and agents submit listings with photos, location coordinates and optional video walkthroughs.
3. Listings are verified by Rennant staff before becoming publicly visible.
4. Students may lock a room by paying the small lock fee; landlords receive the renter's phone number only after payment.
5. We provide messaging, notifications and simple dispute support to keep transactions smooth.

Trust & safety

Verification of listings is central to our platform. We require photos, contact information and location details for every listing. Our team reviews new submissions and may request additional information before approving a listing. User accounts, passwords and OTPs are handled securely and are never exposed publicly. sensitive information publicly.

For landlords and agents

Landlords and agents can register, add listings, and manage their properties through the dashboard. Listings submitted by non-admin users (agents) are flagged for admin verification. We provide tools for uploading multiple images, adding coordinates, and specifying distance from university which helps students discover nearby housing.

Technology & data

Rennant is built with a modern web stack with users and user data security as the primary focus. All user data is encrypted and stored securely. Images are stored with a CDN for performance and we retain payment records as required by local regulations.
